Pastor Amanda Hawley
Commissioned in NEC by the Atlantic Union. During her tenure, Amanda served as Assistant Pastor of the Kingsboro Temple of Seventh-day Adventists (Brooklyn, NY) for 5 years. She then served as Senior Pastor of the Breath of Life Fellowship SDA Church (Stamford, CT) for 3 years. In addition to pastoring, Amanda served as Assistant Women’s Ministries Director for the NEC, and also on the NEC Executive Committee. Currently she is a member of the Pastoral Evangelism and Leadership Counsel Steering Committee; where she has served for the past 7 years. In June 2025, Amanda was Ordained by the Columbia Union Conference; joining the ranks of women pastors who carry both Ordination and Commission credentials.
Amanda is also an international speaker whose ministry has taken her throughout the United States and internationally to Bermuda, Australia, and South Africa. Whether preaching in churches, conferences, schools, or ministry gatherings, she is passionate about sharing biblical truth in a way that is impactful, practical, and transformative.
In her free time Amanda enjoys painting, crafting, baking, singing, cooking…pretty much any form of artistic expression. She loves to travel and spend time with family and friends. It is her desire to serve the Lord with all her heart, mind, soul and strength. As a minister of the Gospel, Amanda knows God has called her “…to bear witness of the Light [of Jesus Christ], that all through her might believe.” (John 1:7)
Amanda N. Hawley (haw-lee) is a dynamic and relevant preacher, who has a passion for genuine worship, spiritual growth, and healthy relationships. She currently pastors the New Life SDA Church in Gaithersburg, MD.
Amanda is a product of Christian education; attending Adventist elementary and junior high schools. She is also a proud graduate of Oakwood University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Before accepting God’s call to pastoral ministry, Amanda was pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology at Argosy (R-go-see) University in Chicago, IL. This training in psychology greatly compliments her ministry training. She later graduated from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University with a Master of Divinity degree. Her goal is to combine her knowledge of mental and behavioral health with that of the Bible to promote spiritual, personal, and relational wholeness.
Before joining the Allegheny East Conference, Amanda ministered in the Northeastern Conference (NEC). In 2016, she was the 2nd Female Pastor hired by NEC, and in 2021 she was the 1st Female Pastor
